John Oliver is probably best known for his correspondent work on The Daily Show, his stellar stand-up, or his role on Community.
However, he is also the co-host of a hilarious podcast, The Bugle. Basically, it’s 40 minutes a week of Oliver and one of his best friends, Andy Zaltzman, discussing current events and trying to make each other laugh. Oliver’s virulent, outspoken hatred of puns will always make me smile.
I’d especially recommend episode 187, where the iTunes account of brutal and oppressive Syrian President Assad has been hacked, and Oliver and Zaltzman discover that Assad was apparently an LMFAO fan. Hilarity ensues, and then keeps ensuing, and then probably ruins “I’m Sexy and I Know It” for you forever, but in THE BEST WAY.
